Samsung still tops despite drop in SmartPhone shipments.

Samsung has remained top giants in the smartphone world as they top list of shipments.

Overall smartphone market reports show that there’s a bit of challenge as shipments continue to fall. With a total of 345 million shipments in Q1 of 2019 and a decline of 5 percent

There was a decline in shipments by 8 percent in the Q1 of 2019, bringing shipments volume to 72 million from 78 million in 2018. However, Samsung is confident as the flagship sales of Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus has been encouraging. This decline has brought their market share to 23.1 percent.

Huawei however has seen a major breakthrough as they topple Apple in this downward struggle. Huawei shipments increased by a massive 50 percent to clock 59 million in volume, thus giving them a 19 percent market share. This has made Huawei the

Apple on other hand saw a decline in shipments of 20 percent to arrive at 42 million in volume, thereby reducing their market shares to 11.7 percent. Apple may be stepping up their game with these new releases

Oppo and Vivo gained by a 10 percent and 27 percent increase respectively as their market shares clock at 8 percent and 7 percent respectively. They and Huawei are the major gainers in this year’s Q1.

The worst in decline is LG with a 40 percent loss and 7 million shipment volume, bringing their market share to just 2 percent.

Apple’s loss is offset by lack of foldable and 5G phones unlike their Samsung counterparts.
